Show Hidden Files in cPanels File Manager

This guide will explain how to show hidden dot files in cPanels File Manager. On webservers some files are ‘hidden’ by placing a dot at the start of the file, by default File Manager doesn’t show these files and they have to be enabled

TL;DR Hidden Files can be shown in cPanels File Manager via cPanel > File Manager > Setting > Show Hidden Files > Save

Step-by-Step Guide

1/ Search for File Manager

In cPanel search for ‘File Manager’ in the top right search bar and click on File Manager from the search results

2/ Click on Settings

In the top right of the File Manager interface click on the Settings option

3/ Show Hidden Dot Files

Click on the option to enable ‘Show Hidden Files’ and click Save

4/ Dot Files Now Visible

The .htaccess file will now be visible in the document root of the site
